Watermark restaurant

Live violin at Watermark Restaurant in Niagara Falls. Liam Calhoun is an electric and acoustic violinist performing live at weddings, private parties, corporate events, and proposals.
It’s been more than a full year since The Fox Duo’s Watermark Restaurant musical entertainment residency started, and this has almost single-handedly been my biggest driving force and inspiration to start playing acoustic and electric violin live along with tracks.
Every Friday from 6-10pm, I play an acoustic violin + piano backing track set at the Watermark fine dining restaurant in the heart of Niagara Falls, which has possibly the best view of the Falls in the entire area. What started as a quickly thrown together setlist that occupied precisely the amount of time I was needed to play for, has now become a highly curated playlist that contains 11 hours worth of music and spans a large number of genres.

Amazing creations by the Watermark culinary team for their Vine-to-Table series

For a quieter atmosphere early in the evening, I can play slower and softer music that matches the energy of the room and creates an elegant ambience. As things get busier and the dining room gets full and slightly louder, turning things up with arrangements of rock songs is a cool way to maintain the same elegant sound of violin with piano accompaniment, but adding a bit of higher energy music that is recognizable to restaurant guests.
The unique combination of live violin playing, awe-inspiring views of Niagara Falls, amazing food, and the anticipation of nightly fireworks at 10 pm come together to create truly unforgettable moments. I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to have a weekly performance where I feel comfortable enough to try new things and continuously develop my sound as a live solo violinist.
